Wheel Care

Finish decides the care routine. What safely cleans a powder-coated wheel can permanently haze a polished forged one, so match the product to the finish every time.

Universal rules: wash wheels cool, never in direct sun on a hot wheel; use a dedicated wheel mitt and separate brushes; rinse thoroughly; dry with a soft microfiber to prevent water spotting. Avoid acid-based, alkaline, or "heavy duty" truck-wash cleaners on any finished wheel.

Polished forged aluminum

Polished forged wheels are bare, uncoated aluminum. They oxidize and water-spot easily and are the highest-maintenance finish we sell.

  • Wash with pH-neutral soap and water only — no wheel acid, no degreaser.
  • Dry immediately; standing water leaves permanent spotting.
  • Restore shine with a dedicated aluminum polish and a soft applicator, working in small sections.
  • Seal with a polished-aluminum wax or sealant after polishing.
  • Never run polished wheels through an automated car wash with harsh chemicals.

Chrome

  • Wash with pH-neutral soap; rinse salt and brake dust off promptly in winter.
  • Use a non-abrasive chrome polish for water spots; abrasives cut the plating.
  • Address chips and pitting quickly — moisture under the plating causes lifting.
  • Never use steel wool, acid cleaners, or abrasive pads.

Painted and powder-coated

  • The most forgiving finish. pH-neutral soap and a soft brush handle regular cleaning.
  • Apply a paint sealant or ceramic-style coating to make brake dust easier to rinse off.
  • Touch up chips promptly so moisture doesn't creep under the coating.
  • Avoid strong solvents that can dull the clear coat.

Black / milled

Milled finishes combine a coated black face with machined-exposed accents, so they behave like two finishes at once.

  • Clean with pH-neutral soap only — acid cleaners stain the machined accents.
  • Use a soft brush in the milled pockets where brake dust builds up.
  • Dry fully so no water sits in machined recesses.
  • Seal to protect the clear coat over the machined areas.

Warranty note

Finish warranties generally exclude damage from harsh chemicals, automated washes, curb impact, and road salt neglect. Following the routine above is the simplest way to keep a claim viable.
